Chiropractic Treatment Benefits

There are no specific diagnostic tests for Fibromyalgia. The American College of Rheumotology (ACR) defines fibromyalgia as a history of pain in all four quadrants of the body lasting more than three months. Pain in all four quadrants means that you have pain in both the right and left side as well as above and below the waist. The ACR also described 18 characteristic tender points on the body that are associated with fibromyalgia. In order to be diagnosed with Fibromyalgia a person must have 11 or more tender points. In addition to pain and fatigue, those with Fibromyalgia may experience: sleep disturbances, morning stiffness, headaches, irritable bowel syndrome, painful menstrual periods, numbness or tingling of the extremities, restless leg syndrome, temperature sensitivity, cognitive and memory problems.

Treating Fibromyalgia with Chiropractic is critical to keep all the joints in alignment allowing the best function of the body. This helps to prevent further trigger points to develop.

Massage therapy with Chiropractic as well as nutritional support helps to achieve continued results.
